Safe. Connected. Under Control: Speedy Block's Smart Sensor Technology
An unexpected machine stoppage. A clamp that appeared correctly closed but wasn't. A fault only discovered downstream, once the damage is already done. These are the challenges production and maintenance managers face every day on automated lines: operator safety, process control, fault prevention, production continuity.
On an automated production line, every single clamping action becomes valuable information. This is the principle behind Speedy Block's sensor-equipped range, designed to turn every clamping tool into a data source for managing the production process — increasing safety, control and production continuity.
The pneumatic clamping devices of the SBPC series, in particular, feature integrated sensors. Each SBPC unit reports the clamping status to the machine's control system in real time: a data point that, multiplied across every clamping point on the line, turns clamping from a passive mechanical function into an active source of information for the entire production process.
Lightweight aluminium-alloy body, nitrided-steel square shaft, opening angle adjustable from 0° to 135°, and tested for up to 3 million cycles: the SBPC range is available in three sizes — 25, 40 and 63 — each with pneumatic or pneumatic-and-manual actuation, for six versions in total.

Smart sensor technology, however, is not exclusive to the SBPC series. The magnetic position sensor is also available for the rest of Speedy Block's pneumatic clamping tool range, while a selection of manual tools with vertical and horizontal closing can be fitted with the dedicated sensor kits.
